Michigan Student Sports Radio Has a New Face

On behalf of the entire team at WCBN Sports, let me be the first to welcome you to our new online site. Wow, I've been waiting over a year to say that.

If you aren't familiar with WCBN Sports and what we do, we are the official student sports radio organization at the University of Michigan. We are entirely staffed and run by full-time students, and we are a wing of the larger student radio group at 88.3 WCBN-FM Ann Arbor. Our members come from all majors and disciplines. From Engineering to Business, we are all brought together by one thing: a passion for sports. That passion has turned what began as a small group of guys in a basement radio studio into Michigan's only student multimedia sports organization, traveling across the country to cover the Michigan Wolverines sports we love.

With the publishing of this page, our organization has taken a crucial step in our ongoing effort to expand our presence among Michigan Wolverines sports coverage. Our organization has existed since the early 1990s, but our reach has previously been limited to the airwaves in Ann Arbor/Metro Detroit on 88.3 FM and on live stream broadcasts via YouTube. Our new web layout provides us with an opportunity to showcase the talents of our student members in new areas like journalism, photography, and podcasting while maintaining our traditional Michigan Athletics broadcasts and our on-air radio show. It's taken over a year for this website to go from just an idea at one of our staff meetings to being a reality, but I could not be more proud of our final product. Much of the credit goes to our former Executive Director, David Carlson, for envisioning this expansion. That being said, it was a full team effort to help see that vision through.

Every member of the WCBN Sports team has contributed to what now stands as a fully-fledged multimedia sports outlet, and I couldn't be more proud to lead this group into the future. As this website will continue to evolve, expand, and grow I want to encourage you to share your feedback with us always. Please explore everything we have to offer here, and we look forward to a new year of Michigan Athletics beginning soon. Forever and always, Go Blue.

If more people that write articles really concerned themselves with writing great content like you, more readers would be interested in their writings. Thank you for caring about your content.
