Before I get into it, I want to start by saying that Carlos Monarrez is an excellent journalist and I really enjoy reading his articles on the Detroit Lions. This is in no way a hit on his character, writing abilities, or an airing of personal grievances (I save that for Festivus). This is just a reaction to a very well written article he put out. I highly recommend you read it HERE
With that being said, C’mon Man. Carlos, you have been around this Lions organization for longer than I have been alive (22 years. Yea, I can drink) so you should know that this franchise is miserable, degrading, pathetic, horrible, abhorrent, lousy, shameful, incompetent, frustrating, dreadful, frightful, and repulsive. They seem to have ownership that doesn't care. Bob Quinn seems like the first hire the Ford family has made where they actually want to better the team. We have a coach who would classify a wild Friday night as getting hit with a Skip card in Uno, not even a Draw 4, a fucking Skip. There hasn't been a playoff win since I was just a twinkle in my Dad’s eye. It’s an entire franchise that, if relegation was a thing in the NFL, they would be competing against high schools every other year.
I don't have to sit here and tell you about all the failures of this franchise. You know. You might know more than most people and here is something else you should know, there ain't jack-shit that we can do about them winning or losing. All we can do is sit there and take it so please, please don’t take away my ability to bitch about calls/believe in a conspiracy that the NFL is against small market teams. It is all I have to escape this miserable existence that is known as Lions fandom. If I don’t complain about calls, I might actually explode. It seems like every week the Lions are on the wrong end of a “The NFL will change that rule in the Summer” call. Carlos, you are 100% right when you say that bad teams have less room for error on bad calls. But you just don’t see shit like this happen to the Packers (This was called on the Lions):

Complaining and believing in conspiracy is how I and many other fans deal with the Lions being super shitty for a super long time. The thing is, most fans at the end of the day will say that the Lions did lose the game. I have said the term “The Lions lost that game, BUT…” too many times. In your article you say that for every bad call against the Lions there is an equal call that favors them. I certainly hope you are right. That means the Lions are about to go on a tear because, if your theory of ‘ for every bad call there is an equal and opposite good call’ holds true then the Lions are about to cash in. CASH IN. I’m not even going to expect compensation for all the PI calls because I do believe that is a league wide issue. But, they still need makeup calls for; The Calvin Johnson rule, The Jim Schwartz rule, The Picked Up PI flag, The Illegal Batting, The Phantom Face mask on the Rodger Hail Mary, and The Paul Richardson Face mask. Just to name a few. The NFL has taken out bad calls on credit from the Lions like Bernie Madoff took retirement funds from old people and now, it is time to paid the Pied Piper.
P.S. How could you ever take the side of Mike Pereira or anyone from the league office? We are talking about a league that is full of frauds and liars. Deflategate was obviously a sham in order for Roger Goodell to try and show he is not just against small market teams. If you’re wanted for robbing the same bank multiple times, what would be the best way to get people off your trail? Rob a bigger bank! Then people forget about the first one you robbed year after year. It's so simple it's stupid. Everyone talking about Deflategate while the Lions are getting jobbed in Dallas playoff games after Dean Blandino, VP of NFL Officiating, was seen getting off the Cowboys party bus.
